Volkswagen Diesel Recall Information

Volkswagen has skirted federal emissions requirements in its diesel vehicles since 2009 by using software that circumvents emissions equipment for certain air pollutants.

The EPA says an investigation shows that the VW emissions-control software in the 2009-’15 Audi A3, Volkswagen Beetle, Volkswagen Golf and Volkswagen Jetta, and the 2014-’15 Volkswagen Passat violates U.S. clean air rules by using a so-called “defeat device.”

As of January 14, 2016, Volkswagen has not yet officially recalled the affected diesel vehicles, or announced a remedy for its consumers.
