DEARBORN, Michigan – The service departments of Ford dealerships are getting a solid new pitchman in the form of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the superstar action hero known for his roles in such movies as Fast & Furious 6 and San Andreas.
Johnson, who projects an “Everyman aura,” according to The New York Times, signed a multiyear deal with Ford.
The new advertising campaign, dubbed “The Specialists at Ford,” highlights the “elite crew of Ford technicians led by Johnson,” the automaker said on Thursday.
“This dedicated team has all of the training, diagnostic tools and Motorcraft parts that make servicing your vehicle at your local Ford dealership the right decision,” Ford said in a statement.
Johnson’s favorite vehicle is the Ford F-150 pickup truck, according to Ford.
The TV ads will begin running on October 12, followed by radio, digital and social spots.
