WASHINGTON – The 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Five stars is the highest rating.
On sale now at Dodge dealerships, the Grand Caravan received four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.
Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability control, daytime running lights and seven airbags, including a driver-side knee blocker airbag. The optional Safety Sphere package of features includes ParkSense rear park-assist system, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2016 Grand Caravan.
Key Grand Caravan competitors include the Honda Odyssey, Kia Sedona, Nissan Quest and Toyota Sienna.
Edmunds says: Car shoppers keeping score should note that the 2016 Honda Odyssey, Kia Sedona and Toyota Sienna earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. The 2016 Nissan Quest has not been rated.
