TORRANCE, California – The 2015 Scion xB 686 Parklan Edition celebrates the end of the line for the boxy wagon that made a strong style statement to draw younger buyers to the Scion brand.
The 2015 xB 686 Parklan Edition, created in partnership with the 686 snowboard apparel company, is priced at $20,480, including a $795 destination charge.
It is on sale now at Scion dealerships.
In comparison, the base 2015 xB starts at $17,915, including shipping.
Scion said the special model is aimed at “buyers seeking a unique combination of fashion and function.”
It is expected to be cross-shopped against the Fiat 500L, Kia Soul and Mini Cooper Countryman.
The xB 686 Parklan Edition features Cocoa Bean Metallic exterior paint with red accent lines. Gloss black 16-inch alloy wheels round out the package.
The cabin gets camouflage accents, all-weather mats and zippered seatback pockets.
“The xB has been part of Scion from the very beginning and we wanted to give it a meaningful send-off,” said Scion Vice President Andrew Gilleland in a statement on Monday. “What better way to do that then to partner with 686, which caters to people who live their lives to the fullest?”
Scion is in the midst of a product renaissance, with new models including the Scion iA sedan and iM hatchback arriving at dealerships this month.
Edmunds says: The Scion xB managed to draw a cult-like following of both young and old. It gets a send-off befitting its reputation with this eye-catching model.
