2015 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport Recalled for Seat Problem

2015 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport Recalled for Seat Problem

WASHINGTON – Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 856 2015 Land Rover Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs because the second-row seatback may not latch properly, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“In the event of a crash, if the seatback is not properly latched, the seatbelt may not properly restrain the occupant, increasing their risk of injury,” said NHTSA in its recall summary.

No injuries or accidents are linked to the recall, the automaker told federal safety regulators.

The affected vehicles were built from June 2, 2015 to June 11, 2015.

Land Rover dealers will inspect the second-row seat mechanism and replace it as required. The recall is expected to begin on November 13. Owners can contact Land Rover customer service at (800) 637-6837.

Edmunds says: Owners should wait for their official recall notice and then schedule a service appointment. But if you have an immediate concern, it’s best to contact your dealer now.
