SEATTLE – There’s less than a week to go in the Costco GM Holiday Sales Event, but shoppers can still take advantage of special offers on such 2015 and 2016 models as the Buick Enclave SUV, Cadillac ATS sedan, Chevrolet Silverado pickup and GMC Acadia crossover.
Other GM vehicles in the program include the Buick Encore, LaCrosse, Regal and Verano; the Cadillac CTS, ELR, Escalade, SRX and XTS; the Chevrolet Cruze, Suburban, Tahoe and Volt; and the GMC Sierra, Terrain, Yukon and Yukon XL.
Running from now through January 4, the Holiday Sales Event entitles Costco members to GM supplier pricing, as well as applicable manufacturer rebates. In addition, Costco Executive Members will receive a $700 cash card, while Gold Star and Business Members will get a $300 card.
Members can register for the program online, after which they’ll receive an authorization number and the contact information for a participating Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet or GMC dealership.
While visiting the dealer, registered members can take a test-drive and then, after presenting their Costco card and authorization number, hear about the special discount price, along with applicable rebates and incentives. At that point they can decide whether or not to proceed with the purchase.
Those who do opt to buy a GM vehicle can then submit a redemption form within 30 days to apply for their Costco cash card.
The Costco Auto Program, which has operated year-round for more than 25 years, provides Costco members with a convenient way to shop for a new or certified pre-owned vehicle from more than 30 manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Jaguar, Jeep, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.
As with the Costco GM Holiday Sales Event, members can select a model online and then work with a participating dealer to complete the purchase. Costco provides “member advocates” for assistance throughout the process and works with dealerships to offer buyers a low, prearranged sale price.
Costco notes that last year its members purchased almost 400,000 vehicles through the program and projects 20 percent growth this year.
Edmunds says: Costco members in the market for a new GM vehicle will want to get online soon to take advantage of special holiday pricing.
