DEARBORN, Michigan – Ford is recalling 3,218 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew pickup trucks because of a front seatbelt problem, the automaker said on Tuesday.
The front seatbelt retractor and pre-tensioner assembly could have improperly secured pre-tensioner cables and might not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, Ford said in a statement.
There are no accidents or injuries linked to the recall.
The affected vehicles were built from January 22, 2015 through March 17, 2015.
Ford dealers will replace the front driver and/or passenger seatbelt retractor and pre-tensioner assembly. The recall is expected to begin the week of February 8. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-800-392-3673.
No information about the recall has been posted on the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle safety in the United States.
Edmunds says: This recall does not begin for several weeks. Ford advises affected customers to contact their local dealership if they experience a problem in the meantime.
