Donaldsons Volkswagen Subaru Hosts Halloween Pet-Adoption Event

SAYVILLE, New York – Halloween at Donaldsons Volkswagen Subaru should be extra spirited as it hosts a dual event on October 31 that features a pet-adoption fair and safe trick-or-treating for kids.

The dealerships is partnering with the Bideawee pet-welfare organization to bring in up to 30 cats and dogs for adoption.

“This month Subaru is having its Love a Pet adoption event, so Halloween worked for us to partake in that and we decided to go big by adding the trick-or-treating,” Shane Ohliger, Internet sales director, told Edmunds.

The adoption will be outside, while the candy distribution will be inside the decorated showroom near the 2016 Subaru Forester, Outback and VW Golf GTI display vehicles.

“It’s a Saturday and I send out an e-mail blast every Friday to about 13,000 people, so hopefully we’ll get a couple of guests,” Ohliger said.

He hopes for some car buyers as well.

“Any event you do you’re always hoping to get some sort of traction from it as far as a sales standpoint but this is more about giving back to our local charities,” he said.
