DETROIT – Apple is giving car shoppers who value connectivity a little help by posting a list of every vehicle that features CarPlay or will in the near future on a new Web site.
The models include the 2017 Audi Q7, 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, 2017 Ford Escape, 2016 Hyundai Sonata, 2017 Porsche Macan and 2017 Volvo S90.
Apple notes that there are now “more than 100 models to choose from.”
The popular feature brings the smartphone to the car’s instrument panel. The CarPlay home screen features many of the recognizable application tiles from the iPhone.
It allows users to get directions, make calls, send and receive messages and listen to music, all while cutting down on driver distraction.
“CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and puts them right on your car’s built-in display,” Apple said, calling the feature the “Ultimate CoPilot.”
Edmunds says: Your dealer can also point you in the right direction when it comes to the availability of Apple CarPlay.
