LOS ANGELES – The refreshed 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL convertible, which is expected to arrive at Mercedes-Benz dealerships next year, will make its world debut next week at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.
A single teaser image of the 2017 SL reveals a new face for the iconic German drop top.
Mercedes-Benz said the SL features “a new front view and diamond grille.” No other details about the car, including pricing and technical specifications, were released.
The star logo dominates the front end, which receives a redesigned lower grille and smaller headlights.
Design cues appear to be derived from the 2016 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT coupe.
The 2016 SL is on sale now, starting at $85,975 for the SL400, including a $925 destination charge. The top-of-the-line 2016 SL65 is priced at $218,475, including shipping.
Key competitors to the SL include the Bentley Continental GT convertible, BMW 6 Series and Porsche 911 Cabriolet.
Edmunds says: The 2017 SL makes a major style statement with the update. Buyers should expect loads of luxury features and a six-figure starting price for mid- and high-end models.
