2017 GMC Canyon Denali Bring Luxury to Midsize Pickups: 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show

LOS ANGELES – In today’s truck market, premium luxury has been reserved for full-size pickups. Ford has the King Ranch trim for its F-Series, while Ram tops its lineup with the Longhorn. Midsize trucks have largely been passed over in this regard. Until now.

This week at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, GMC rolled out the 2017 Canyon Denali to echo the style and features found in the full-size Sierra Denali. On the outside, the Canyon Denali gets a unique chrome grille, 20-inch machined alloy wheels, chrome side steps and a spray-in bedliner.

Inside, additional Canyon Denali pickup features include premium leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a navigation system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also a WiFi hotspot, automatic climate control, a full color driver information display, remote ignition and three USB ports.

A forward collision alert and lane departure warning systems round out the standard safety features.

When the 2017 Canyon Denali hits GMC showrooms in late 2016 it will only be offered as a crew cab. Shoppers can still choose between two- or four-wheel drive and a 3.6-liter V6 or the recently introduced 2.8-liter turbodiesel.

Edmunds says: With the upscale Denali trim trickling down to the midsize GMC Canyon, luxury-minded buyers can now get all the features they want without having to step up to full-size pickups.
