2017 Cadillac XT5 Debuts at 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show

LOS ANGELES – The 2017 Cadillac XT5 crossover made its North American debut here at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show following its global reveal in Dubai last week. When it arrives next spring, the XT5 will replace the current SRX in Cadillac’s lineup.

Built on an all-new chassis, the XT5 rides on a longer wheelbase and wider track, yet has the same exterior dimensions as the SRX. The result is more overall space inside and more than 3 additional inches of rear legroom.

All XT5s will be powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine rated to deliver 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, along with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive will be optional.

No EPA mileage estimates were announced.

One notable new feature on the XT5 is Cadillac’s rearview mirror camera system. It uses a video camera to project an unobstructed rearward view onto the rearview mirror. The new feature will arrive first on the Cadillac CT6 sedan that will hit dealers just before the XT5 crossover.

Pricing is expected to start in the low-$40,000s.

Edmunds says: After letting the SRX languish on the market for far too long, Cadillac finally has a credible entrant in the most popular segment of the luxury market.
