LOS ANGELES – Car shoppers who want to create a custom look for their 2016 Nissan Versa Note hatchback got some good news from Nissan North America on Thursday.
The automaker’s “Color Studio” personalization program now includes the Versa Note, the automaker said as part of its 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show announcement. The program debuted last year on the Nissan Juke.
Buyers and lessees can choose an a la carte selection of 13 exterior and interior accent accessories for the Versa Note. The cost can be added to the Versa Note purchase or lease costs and rolled into the vehicle payment.
Nissan showrooms will be equipped with a special website that offers a full 360-degree view of the Versa Note with all colors and combinations of parts. The Versa Note section of the Color Studio site goes live on November 17.
“A little color – or a lot – dramatically changes the look of a vehicle and there’s no easier way to make a ride stand out than the convenient, affordable Color Studio process,” said Pierre Loing, Nissan North America vice president of product planning, in a statement.
The custom accessories are offered in black, white, red, black-purple, orange and carbon-fiber look.
The special accents can dress up the Versa Note’s mirror caps, door handles, hatch and roof spoiler. Buyers can also add special kick plates, speaker rings and air vent rings.
The customization program helps the Versa Note stand out in a crowded segment that includes the Chevrolet Sonic, Ford Fiesta, Honda Fit and Hyundai Accent.
Edmunds says: Nissan gets inspired by tuners and rolls out its Color Studio program for the Versa Note, giving buyers an affordable way to personalize their car.
