NASHVILLE, Tennessee – The latest installment in the 2016 Nissan Titan XD Truckumentary pits the Pro-4X version of the redesigned full-size pickup truck against Montana Mountain outside of Stanfield, Arizona.
The video “chronicles a day in the life of Nissan’s durability team as it runs the Titan XD Pro-4X on the grades of Montana Mountain,” Nissan said.
It’s yet another look at the highly anticipated truck before it arrives at Nissan dealerships in early December.
The Titan XD is also put through a grueling test at Arizona’s Davis Dam, where Nissan engineers gauge the ability of the truck to tow heavy loads under high heat at a “serious incline.”
Production of the Titan XD, which targets the Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150, began last week at the automaker’s Canton, Mississippi assembly plant.
Following the launch of the XD Crew Cab version, the new Titan will be offered in three cab configurations, two frame sizes, three powertrain offerings and five trim levels.
A new turbodiesel engine will be available only in the Titan XD. It’s a 5.0-liter DOHC V8 developed by Cummins.
In the Titan XD, the Cummins V8 generates 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque.
Nissan has not announced 2016 Titan pricing.
Previous Truckumentary installments covered everything from the Titan’s design to “Truck Love.”
Edmunds says: The Titan XD Truckmentary series gives truck buyers important information about the performance and attributes of this F-150 and Silverado fighter.
