2016 Mini Cooper Convertible Bound for Mini Dealerships in March
|
WOODCLIFF LAKE, New Jersey – The redesigned 2016 Mini Cooper Convertible, a four-seat soft top, will arrive at Mini dealerships in March.
Pricing will be announced in January.
The Mini Cooper Convertible, which targets the Fiat 500 Convertible and Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, is based on a new BMW architecture.
The three- and four-cylinder engines with TwinPower turbocharging are mated to a base six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
Buyers will have a choice of 11 exterior colors, including the new Caribbean Aqua.
An “Always Open Timer,” a gauge that gives drivers how many hours they have driven with the top down, sets this drop-top apart from the competition.
Standard features include a 6.5-inch display screen. An optional 8.8-inch screen includes a “rain warning app” that lets drivers know of impending storms.
Optional cabin treatments include brown leather seating with diamond stitching that’s patterned after a British Chesterfield sofa.
In a nod to Mini’s British heritage, the convertible top can be ordered with an embroidered Union Jack.
Edmunds says: If you’re putting together a list of convertible choices for next spring, the Mini Cooper Convertible should be high on your shopping list.
