WASHINGTON – The 2016 Cadillac CTS sedan earned the highest five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
On sale now at Cadillac dealerships, the 2016 CTS received five stars in the front, side and rollover crash tests.
The rating applies to rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the CTS.
The new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V high-performance sedan has not been rated.
Standard safety equipment on the 2016 CTS includes 10 airbags, a rearview camera, electronic stability control with traction control and antilock brakes.
The Driver Awareness package is standard with Luxury, Performance and Premium Collections, as well as V-Sport. It includes side blind-zone alert, lane-change alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, forward-collision alert, rear cross-traffic alert and a Safety Alert seat.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2016 CTS.
Key CTS competitors include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Edmunds says: Safety-minded car shoppers should note that the 2016 Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series also earned the highest five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan earned a four-star overall safety rating.
