2016 BMW i3 Shadow Sport Edition Priced at $48,395
LOS ANGELES – The 2016 BMW i3 Shadow Sport Edition, which features a moonroof and sport-tuned suspension, is headed to BMW dealerships starting at $48,395, including a $995 destination charge. The special model debuted at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.
It is $5,000 more expensive than the base 2016 BMW i3 hatchback electric vehicle. The base model is priced at $43,395, including shipping.
Just 50 units of the i3 Shadow Sport Edition will be offered, BMW of North America said.
The limited-edition model features Fluid Black exterior paint and a dark gray cloth interior with blue highlights.
The 2016 i3 has an MPGe rating of 137 in city driving and 111 on the highway, according to the EPA.
Key i3 competitors include the Chevrolet Volt, Nissan Leaf and Toyota Prius Plug-in hybrid.
