HERNDON, Virginia – The new 2016 Audi S8 plus luxury sedan, the latest variant of Audi’s A8 flagship sedan, will arrive at Audi dealerships in December with a starting price of $115,825.
The price includes a $925 destination charge.
There is no price increase versus the 2015 S8.
In comparison, the base 2016 Audi A8 starts at $82,425, including shipping.
The high-performance S8 plus competes with the BMW 7 Series, Lexus LS 460 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
A standard rear lip spoiler painted in the exterior body color and silver mirror housings differentiate the S8 plus from the A8. New 21-inch five-double-arm S8 plus titanium wheels are standard.
An optional Black optic exterior package adds carbon-fiber mirrors housings, a black single-frame grille and window surrounds, a carbon front blade and darkened taillights.
The S8 plus is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that delivers 605 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, a boost of 85 hp compared to the outgoing S8. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard.
Audi describes it as “one of the highest-powered sport sedans in the premium segment,” with a top track speed of 155 mph.
The S8 plus sprints from zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
An optional Dynamic package boosts the top track speed to 190 mph.
Edmunds says: Luxury sedan shoppers with a lust for power will want to check out the 2016 Audi S8 plus.
