CYPRESS, California – The new 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage Rockford Fosgate Edition hatchback, featuring a premium audio system, is on the way to Mitsubishi dealerships.
The new model, which is spun off the Mirage DE, is priced at $15,755, including an $810 destination charge.
The base 2015 Mirage DE is priced at $13,805, including shipping.
The Rockford Fosgate Edition pits the Mirage against high-end versions of the Chevrolet Spark, Ford Fiesta and Mazda 2.
Details include a 300-watt Rockford Fosgate ecoPunch sound system, steering audio controls, Bluetooth, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, alloy wheels and special badging.
“We’re excited to offer this package in a segment that doesn’t typically offer premium audio systems,” said Don Swearingen, Mitsubishi Motors North America president, in a statement on Thursday.
The Mirage, which is billed as one of the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid cars in the U.S., joined Mitsubishi’s U.S. lineup in 2014.
Edmunds says: The Mirage rocks a new sound system, which should appeal to lots of music lovers in the market for an affordable car.
