2015-'16 Porsche Macan Recalled for Possible Fuel Leak

ATLANTA – Porsche Cars North America is recalling 21,835 2015-’16 Porsche Macan S and Macan Turbo SUVs in the U.S. because of a possible fuel leak, the automaker said on Friday.

This is part of a larger global recall of 58,881 Macan vehicles.

“This is a purely precautionary measure, as there have been no reports of accidents or injuries as a result of this concern,” Porsche said in a statement.

The problem has been traced to a possible leak in the low-pressure fuel line inside the engine compartment.

“The problem was identified after a precise examination of complaints and then immediately rectified in ongoing production,” Porsche said.

Porsche will contact owners of these vehicles directly, and service appointments with Porsche dealers will be arranged as quickly as possible to fix the leak.

Owners can contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243.

No information about the recall has been posted on the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle safety in the U.S.

Edmunds says: Owners of these vehicles should expect a call from Porsche. The repair will take about one hour, according to the automaker. If you have an immediate concern, it’s best to contact your dealer now.
