Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham Creates a Nick Saban-Themed Tailgating Van

HOOVER, Alabama – The University of Alabama’s head coach Nick Saban, who co-owns Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham, has created the ultimate tailgating experience with a limited-edition Saban Signature Series Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for the 2015-’16 football season.
Saban teamed up with McSweeney Designs to create a luxurious, nine-passenger fun house filled with three TVs – one with its own sound system in the trunk – a retractable awning, hardwood floors, a refrigerator, massaging leather conference seats that sport Saban’s name in embroidery and satellite TV.
The Sprinter also boasts other technological upgrades, like Wi-Fi, that make it an ideal mobile office for corporate entertaining, Kristen Saban-Setan, the dealership’s marketing director and Saban’s daughter, told Edmunds.
Only Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham sells the $200,000 Sprinter, of which only 15 will be created this football season.
“Since it was unveiled September 10, we have sold one or two with prospects to sell more,” Saban-Setan said.
The dealership parked one outside of its showroom and it has acted as a magnet, bringing customers into the showroom to discover the Mercedes-Benz lineup when they visit, she said.
“It’s the ultimate tailgate experience, not just for Alabama fans, but for avid sports fans, families who like to travel and anyone who has business clients that they want to take around,” she said.
Edmunds says: Nick Saban scores on this drive.
