2017 Porsche 911 Carrera Bound for Dealerships in March, Priced at $90,395

ATLANTA – The updated 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera will arrive at U.S. Porsche dealerships this March, starting at $90,395, including a $995 destination charge. The car will debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The price reflects a $5,100 price increase over the outgoing model.

The increase covers the four 2017 911 Porsche Carrera models.

The 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S is priced at $104,395, including shipping.

The 2017 911 Carrera Cabriolet convertible starts at $102,695, while the Carrera S Cabriolet convertible is priced at $116,695. Prices including shipping.

Options include a $3,200 PDK or Porsche-Doppelkupplung transmission, a $2,950 sport exhaust system and a $6,290 Sports package that bundles the sport exhaust system, Sport Chrono package, rear-axle steering and a GT sport steering wheel.

Dynamic chassis control adds another $3,160, while a new lane-change assist system is priced at $850. An updated adaptive cruise control is priced at $2,490.

Three special exterior colors include Lava Orange, Carmine Red and new Miami Blue. All are priced at $3,140.

The update includes new headlights, integrated door handle recesses, a new rear deck lid with vertical louvers and new taillights.

The 911 Carrera gets new turbocharged engines with a 20-horsepower increase and reduced fuel consumption, Porsche said.

In the base 911 Carrera, shoppers will find a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that delivers 370 hp and 331 pound-feet of torque.

The 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine in the Carrera S delivers 420 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. This engine gets turbochargers with modified compressor wheels, a model-specific exhaust system and different tuning for the engine management system.

A seven-speed manual transmission in standard on the entry-level 911 Carrera and Carrera S.

The EPA has not rated the 2017 911 Carrera.

Key 911 Carrera competitors include the Audi R8, Jaguar F-Type and Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should be ready for a price increase on the 911 Carrera, but also a long list of improvements and new options.
