DETROIT – The all-new 2017 Cadillac XT5 midsize luxury crossover that replaces the Cadillac SRX will arrive at Cadillac dealerships next spring. The XT5, part of a new naming strategy for the brand, will debut in November at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show and Dubai auto show.
Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell told Edmunds that shoppers should expect an XT5 price tag “in the 40s.” He said the XT5 is a bit larger than the current SRX and will feature more content.
He would not provide any other details.
The 2015 SRX is priced at $38,600, including a $995 destination charge.
Three photos of the XT5 released on Thursday show a family resemblance to the Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans. Compared to the SRX, the XT5 gets a more prominent grille, which gives the “face” an aggressive look.
The XT5 takes aim at the 2016 Audi Q5, Lexus RX 350 and Volvo XC60.
The XT designation will denote the size and position of future Cadillac SUVs.
Edmunds says: This is a key product for Cadillac’s 2017 portfolio and one that is expected to provide a major showroom draw.
