ATLANTA – The 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class compact sedan and GLA-Class crossover will go on sale at Mercedes-Benz dealerships in October with new updates and options, Mercedes-Benz said.
Pricing will be announced closer to launch date.
A special “Edition: Orange” model will be available for the 2016 CLA250 and CLA250 4Matic models. Just 750 units will be sold in the U.S.
Mercedes-Benz also will introduce a new dark-trim “Night Package” for the CLA-Class and a “Welcome Light Show” for the optional ambient-lighting package.
Buyers can also add adaptive dampers, a new option designed to smooth the CLA’s ride. New contrast-stitching options for the base black or gray MB Tex upholstery complete the enhancements for the new model year.
The CLA-Class targets the Acura ILX, Audi A3 and Buick Verano.
The 2016 GLA-Class, the hatchback sibling of the CLA-Class, features a new standard infotainment system with a 7-inch display and a new Kryptonite Green metallic exterior paint. Other new standard items include keyless start, dual-zone climate control and an adjuster for the driver’s seat cushion length.
Multicolor ambient lighting is a new option.
Key GLA-Class competitors include the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Porsche Macan.
Edmunds says: These two wallet-friendly Mercedes-Benz vehicles get some thoughtful improvements for the new model year.
