DEARBORN, Michigan – The 2016 Lincoln MKX co-stars with Academy Award-winner actor Matthew McConaughey in the latest Lincoln commercials that debuted on Thursday.
The ads are designed to create buzz for the MKX, an all-new second-generation midsize SUV that competes with the Acura MDX, BMW X5 and Lexus RX 350.
So far, the new series of ads is garnering attention because McConaughey shaves, dresses, plays cards and listens to jazz, but does not speak.
In previous Lincoln commercials for the Lincoln MKC, MKZ and MKZ Hybrid, the actor did rambling monologues that were widely parodied.
“What appeals to me about this new series of ads is that while the overall Lincoln message remains consistent, the way it is delivered continues to evolve,” McConaughey said in a statement. “It’s exciting to have the freedom to explore and create new narratives.”
The 2016 MKX arrives at Lincoln dealerships this fall.
The ads will be seen on college football games on ABC and NFL games on CBS and Fox.
Edmunds says: McConaughey is mum in these new Lincoln commercials, letting the all-new MKX speak for itself.
