DEARBORN, Michigan – The all-new 2016 Lincoln MKX midsize crossover is on sale now at Lincoln dealerships with a starting price of $38,995, including a $925 destination charge.
Base pricing reflects an $800 reduction compared to the 2015 MKX.
The top-of-the-line 2016 MKX with all-wheel drive and an optional 2.7-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine starts at $43,520, including shipping.
In comparison, the top-of-the-line 2015 MKX with a 3.7-liter V6 engine starts at $41,745, including shipping.
The second-generation MKX competes in a crowded segment that includes the Acura MDX, BMW X5 and Lexus RX 350.
Lincoln is touting the MKX as a crossover that delivers “quiet luxury.”
It is equipped with a standard 3.7-liter V6 engine rated at 303 horsepower. The optional 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine delivers 335 hp. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional.
This is the first Lincoln to offer pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection. The system automatically applies the brakes if it detects that a collision is imminent.
A 13-speaker Revel sound system is optional on the Lincoln MKX Select and Reserve models.
Edmunds says: There are many good reasons, from pricing to safety features, for premium crossover shoppers to check out the all-new Lincoln MKX.
