DETROIT – The 2016 Chevrolet Trax small SUV starts at $21,195, including an $895 destination charge, reflecting a $200 price increase over the 2015 Trax, according to the Chevrolet vehicle configurator.
The 2016 Trax is on sale now at Chevrolet dealerships. It targets the Kia Soul, Nissan Juke and Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
Three trim levels are available on the Trax.
The midrange 2016 Trax LT with front-wheel drive is priced at $23,540, including shipping.
The top-of-the-line Trax LTZ starts at $26,125, including shipping.
This is a carryover vehicle with minimal changes. They include four new exterior colors: Crimson Metallic, Sable Metallic, Cyber Gray Metallic and Champagne Silver Metallic.
The Trax was introduced in the 2015 model year. It is equipped with a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 138 horsepower. The engine is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Edmunds says: Despite a modest price increase, the 2016 Trax is still an affordable choice for entry-level buyers.
