DETROIT – The 2016 Chevrolet SS sedan gets several enhancements for the new model year, including exterior updates and a new dual-mode exhaust system, GM announced on Tuesday.
Chevrolet spokeswoman Afaf Farah told Edmunds that Chevrolet dealers are taking orders now for the 2016 SS, but that formal pricing will be announced later.
Exterior upgrades include a revised front fascia with new vertical ducts at the outer edges to direct airflow over the front wheel openings to improve aerodynamics.
The fascia also gets new LED lighting. New hood vents and new 19-inch cast aluminum wheels round out the changes.
The 2016 SS is equipped with a carryover 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Buyers can choose either a six-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic transmission.
Key SS rivals include the BMW 5 Series, Dodge Charger R/T and Ford Taurus SHO.
Edmunds says: Car shoppers who are interested in the 2016 Chevrolet SS should get the conversation going now with their dealer.
