2016 Buick Regal GS Gets $3,320 Price Cut
|
DETROIT – The top-of-the-line 2016 Buick Regal GS sedan is priced at $34,990, including a $925 destination charge, reflecting a $3,320 price cut over the 2015 Regal GS, GM told Edmunds on Thursday.
“Given where the market is today and the move toward crossovers, we wanted to make sure that Regal remains on shoppers’ minds,” said Buick spokesman Nick Richards in a phone conversation.
He said that there is no reduction in content on the 2016 Regal GS or other Regal models.
Pricing on the base 2016 Regal remains the same as last year. The 2016 Regal starts at $27,990, including shipping.
The 2016 Regal 1SL, a step up from the base model, starts at $29,915, reflecting a $1,000 price cut. The price includes shipping.
The midrange Regal 1SN is not offered for 2016.
The 2016 Regal 1SP starts at $32,490, for a $2,535 price cut over the 2015 model. The price includes shipping.
On sale now at Buick dealerships, the 2016 Regal is a carryover model with minor enhancements. Buick IntelliLink connectivity enhancements include new display screens and more intuitive controls.
New exterior colors include Ebony Twilight Metallic, White Frost Metallic, Crimson Red Tintcoat and Dark Forest Green Metallic.
Pricing has not been announced on the new 2016 Regal Sport Touring model, which arrives at dealerships this fall.
The Sport Touring model gets special 18-inch wheels and a rear spoiler.
The base 2016 Regal is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 259 horsepower.
Key competitors to the Regal include the Audi A4, Lincoln MKZ and Volvo S60.
Edmunds says: Shoppers who only have crossovers on their lists may want to rethink the Buick Regal and Regal GS sedans, given the generous price reductions.
