2016 BMW M6 Coupe Competition Edition Priced at $165,895

WOODCLIFF LAKE, New Jersey – At the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show this week, BMW revealed the 2016 BMW M6 Coupe Competition Edition, which will be priced at $165,895, including a $995 destination charge.

Select BMW dealers have already begun taking orders on the limited-edition model, with only 100 units scheduled to make their way to the U.S.

Buyers get a choice of two exterior colors, Austin Yellow metallic and Alpine White. The white version features striping in BMW’s trademark M colors, reminiscent of the treatment on the new BMW M6 GT3 racecar.

The exterior is further highlighted by special 20-inch double-spoke M wheels with performance tires, an M Performance exhaust with carbon-fiber tailpipes, and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, diffuser and mirror caps.

Inside, the limited-edition model sports black Merino leather seats with body-color contrasting stitching, strategically placed special “M6 Competition” badges and carbon-fiber trim on the gear selector and steering-wheel spokes.

Among the technology features are a head-up display and the choice of a Harman Kardon surround-sound system or an optional Bang & Olufsen system with 16 speakers and an output of 1,200 watts.

The M6 Coupe Competition Edition is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

The power is delivered to the road through a performance-tuned suspension that includes firmer springs, shock absorbers and antiroll bars.

In addition to exclusivity, buyers will also receive a voucher for the BMW M Performance Driving Center Experience, which entitles them to visit the BMW Performance Driving Center of their choice, where they can hone their skills with a half-day instructor-led training session.

The closest competitors to the BMW M6 Coupe Competition Edition include the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and the Porsche 911.

Edmunds says: With only 100 of the 2016 M6 Coupe Competition Edition coming to the U.S., interested buyers should contact their BMW dealer ASAP.
